Fading Light by Nita Leland This watercolor was painted as a step-by-step demonstration for Exploring Color, pp. 56-57. The technique used is pure transparent watercolor, starting with wet-in-wet washes. Using a large brush for the sky I kept the paper wet until the sky effect was fully realized, then I finished the details with a smaller brush on dry paper. A primary palette was used, made up of Winsor Red, New Gamboge and French Ultramarine.
